Have you started packing for Camp 2011?

It's not long now till we set off for Marahau next Tuesday!!!!!! Hopefully you're finding all the bits and pieces you'll need, now is the time to let us know if you need a hand with anything!

Last week our focus was researching a native bird and drawing it. This week we'll finish off our drawings by adding colour. Both classes will get a visit from the NZ Red Cross who will take us a through a People Savers' first aid course. Rm 9 will have their one on Monday and Rm 10 on Tuesday. Make sure you pay attention because you never know when you might need to use these life saving skills! Also, we'll be using the skills you've learnt to put together some Comic Art strips explaining what you would do in one the situations you'll be learning about.
This week we are also going to become familiar with a Native Tree that you might find in the national park. Just like last week, here are some trees that are found in the Abel Tasman National Park. Your job is to choose one and using the links below briefly fill out your research sheet. Make sure you look carefully at the pictures of your chosen tree as you will be drawing a detailed picture of it, its leaves and flowers etc...

Beech
Flax
Lancewood
Manuka
Rimu

  9. Hello Room 10. It is Mrs McCormack here - in Vanuatu! We have received your letters thankyou (but not from Deon??). I'm sorry that Finn H didn't get his one from Jayden Pares-Wright. He was away at the end of term so probably didn't get his to me in time. Next week we get our new computer suite so we will check your blog more and email you too. I hope Mrs Howard is having a nice relaxing time before her baby comes. Bye for now. Mrs Mc. xx
